The Marthoma Hospital started in 1978 for the benefit of the poor people in and around of this region. Though the Hospital was started only with the department of hospital medicine, from August 1985 onwards, it started functioning as a specialized center for mental health together with the department of general medicine.

Today , Marthoma Hospital known as one of the best treatment center in India as well its name has already spread worldwide. Many thanks giving and gratitude letters are continuing from everywhere.
